2023
STRIPED BASS SCIENCE! Captain Bobby Rice recently fishes with Bill Hoffman and his team from the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries on a half-day striped bass fishing trip where we documented 72 STRIPED BASS caught and released, all on artificial (mostly topwater with some jigs mixed in). The documented fish were from 24″ to 37”. Data collected included timing the length of fight (hooked to landed) as well as time out of the water (landed to released). All data gathered for mortality rate studies which will support fisheries decisions and regulations to protect this species for the future. Reel Deal is very happy to be able to support this study!
