Free Fishing Charters for Iraqi and Afghanistan Veterans
Our hats off to Rich Wood of Nelson's Bait and Tackle for organizing such a wonderful event for Iraqi and Afghanistan veterans as well as their families. A big hand also to all the local businesses, charter captains and recreational boat owners who donated their time and energy as well, to make this such a success.
The weather cooperated, the fishing was good (great, at times!) and Capt. Bobby thoroughly enjoyed taking his assigned veterans and their families out and providing them with a fun-filled and relaxing day on the water. We met some truly amazing people and remember how important and dedicated our troops are. In particular, we were extremely moved by one of our Gold Star Mothers who continues the legacy of her son who sacrificed himself to save the lives of 40 other service members.
