Captain's Update

- 9/05/08: Here comes September and here comes the WIND. Blown in a couple days this week, did manage to get some nice stripers early on and had a tuna hook-up this morning. Bass charter tomorrow then most likely landbound on Sunday for when Hanna passes through. Call now to book your fishing charter.
- 8/27/08: Stripers back on track, limited out on this morning's trip.
- 8/23/08: The Richmond brothers land a tuna on Reel Deal this week. Striped bass fishing showing improvement.
- 8/20/08: Can't seem to get the best of both worlds. Tunafishing continues a strong morning bite while the day-time stripers have gone into hiding. Looks like will need to get more creative to find those keepers!
- 8/18/08: Tuna blitz this morning while out on a striped bass trip. Many fish showing themselves at the surface.
- 8/13/08: Reel Deal lands a tuna and releases two other just after sunrise today. It's football season!
- 8/5/08: North wind has increased the tuna hook-ups. Hope this pattern sticks around for upcoming trips!
- 8/3/08: Jigging has been the key to landing several nice size fish this week. The stripers are definitely interested in the custom made Reel Deal jigs, glad to see all those long winter days of pouring lead is paying off! Still getting in some top water action here and there as well.
- 7/28/08: This past week, despite a couple days of heavy winds and rain, we had some great fishing trips with younger kids on the boat. It is so rewarding to see them land stripers and blues. Still seeing a good amount of bait and whale action, keeping an eye out for the return of the football tunas.
- 7/21/08: The bright full moon seemed to slow down an already slow start to the tuna season. Have spotted quite a few whales in close recently and hope that the tuna follow in the same bait they are chasing. Striped bass fishing continues to be consistent, hooked into some great fish in the gusty winds and showers yesterday. Had an awesome bachelor party fishing trip on Saturday, congratulations to Mike and his fiancee!
- 7/16/08: Reel Deal Fishing Charters was just named SECOND PLACE in BEST CAPE COD FISHING CHARTER! Thank you very much to all those who voted.
- 7/13/08: Fishing started out great early in the week, then slowed down considerably after the strong SW wind on Wednesday. Yesterday morning's trip did very well catching their limit for striped bass, so looks to be picking back up again. Expecting lots of boat traffic on this morning's trip being the opening day for commercial striped bass, yet another season begins!
- 7/05/08: Had a couple slow days mid-week with the big tides. The stripers seemed to be there, just not hitting. Turned back on yesterday, they must've been celebrating the holiday!
- 6/30/08: 25+ lb stripers made the weekend one to remember and also helped to make up for a couple more tuna losses after adrenalin-pumping fights. Looking into revamping the light tackle tuna set-ups to get one of these 100+ lb fish into the boat!
- 6/23/08: Superb striped bass fishing this past weekend, early morning and late afternoon were great. Tunafishing on Saturday was made tough by the unusually high number of boats out there, although still had one nice hook-up.
- 6/18/08: The excellent top water fishing continues as striped bass and tuna continue to show themselves on the surface. Hooked a large tuna with the RONZ of course!
- 6/14/08: Heartbreaker of a trip today. Four tuna hook ups on light tackle with RONZ baits, one fish was fought for almost two hours! The fish won out today, but there's always tomorrow.
- 6/10/08: Stripers and bluefin on the surface, yahoo!
- 6/07/08: Let's keep the warm water coming in! Fishing is picking back up, today's trip lands 44" striper.
- 6/06/08: Looking forward to some warmer temperatures heading our way. Water temp was pretty low today (48 F in the Pamet!) which has slowed down the fishing a bit.
- 5/29/08: Striped bass are boiling on the surface! This is the best time of year for spinning rod action!
- 5/23/08: Captain Bobby lands the first keeper striped bass of the season!
